Balloon Boy Parents In Trouble, But Not For Calling Their Kid Falcon

By Malcolm Owen | Oct 19, 2009

How badly do you want to be on TV? Would you falsely say that your child is on a balloon flying thousands of feet up in the hope of getting a deal? Well, depending on how you look at it, we may have found someone.

Richard Heene said that his 6 year old child was stuck on a balloon that was launched from his home. In turn, the media went nuts at such a fantastic story that was happening right in front of them. It was later found that Falcon (apt name that can lead to so many jokes…) was instead hiding in the garage.

The Heene family are saying it’s not a hoax. There’s the possibility of charges if the US legal system believes otherwise (and based on the video, they’re screwed, even if they call it “Youtubes”).

I’m uncertain as to whether or not it is a simple mistake on the family’s part without a large amount of evidence in either direction. It could be they screwed up and genuinely didn’t know the kid hid from everyone.

Alternatively, someone could have seen what happened to Octo-mom..
