Canabalt – Wasting Time Has Never Been So Addictive…

By | Oct 5, 2009

Indie Game? Check.
Simple? Check.
Addictive? Check.
iPhone to play it? Err…

canabaltCanabalt has you running on the rooftops of an unknown city under siege. We don’t know how or why the guy is running, but we know that we don’t want him to die. Cue the single button gameplay of jumping, and then using the debris to slow you down when you think you’re going too fast to navigate the next section.

It’s addictiveness is only let down by a lack of an online leaderboard. I suppose Twitter will have to do…

If you can, go and get the iPhone version, but if you’re cheap or don’t own a Jesusphone, there is the online version to keep you happy.

This reminds me of what made video games in the 80s so great. They take a simple concept and make it fun.
