Sony Does NOT Win Emmy for Sixaxis

Sony PS3 Controller
It appears that Sony have been lying about their awards. Why anyone normally would lie is beyond me, but at least we can see where the motivation is here.

Sony unleashed a Press Release about them winning an Emmy for the PS3’s Sixaxis Controller. This in itself would be great PR if they did infact win said award for said hardware, especially when CES is happening. Except they didn’t. Hydrapinion contacted the NATAS and got this response [Snip!]:

I would like to confirm that Sony did not win for their PS3 controller, they won for their Dual Shock Analog controller.

So yes, Sony sent out a press release saying they won for one thing when it really was something else, and even we screwed up with reporting this on Gametactics.com, but you would think that a console launch won’t screw up as much as the PS3 launch already has.
